ZOU NOTES
• Mizzou is off to a 6-0 start for the second time under Robin Pingeton and the first time since 2013-14 when the Tigers began 7-0.
• Sophie Cunningham (Columbia, Mo.) was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week on Tuesday. In just her fourth career game on Sunday vs. Wake Forest, Cunningham set a new school record with 42 points, which ties for the highest single-game total in NCAA Division I this season.
• Cunningham broke a nearly 30-year-old record of 41 points that was established by Renee Kelly on Jan. 25, 1986 vs. Oklahoma.
• For the week, Cunningham averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Through five career games, Cunningham is averaging 19.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals per contest.
• Junior forward Jordan Frericks established season-highs with 18 points, three blocks and three steals during Friday's 69-56 over Northeastern in the first game of the Hilton Concord Thanksgiving Classic. Frericks ranks fourth in Mizzou career history with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game.
EARLY SEASON NOTABLES
• Mizzou head coach Robin Pingeton signed a new 5-year contract through the 2019-20 season that was announced on Oct. 2. She earned her 85th victory at Mizzou on Friday vs. Northeastern.
• The Tigers are 40-1 in nonconference home games at Mizzou Arena under Pingeton.
• Senior guard Maddie Stock (Town & Country, Mo.) moved into sole possession of seventh in program history on Nov. 16 with 114 baskets from long range. She drained a career-high 54 triples in 2014-15.
• Mizzou has played in a Thanksgiving tournament hosted by Saint Mary's once before, winning games against Alabama and Saint Mary's on Nov. 24 and Nov. 25, 2006.
• In that tournament finale against Saint Mary's, Alyssa Hollins scored 18 points. Carlynn Savant added 15 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and three steals.
ABOUT SAINT MARY'S...
• The Gaels are 5-0 and notched a comeback victory in overtime with an 83-81 win over Fresno State on Friday.
• Four Saint Mary's players are averaging over at least 10.4 points per game.
• As a team, the Gaels are averaging 80.4 points per contest and have twice scored over 90 points.
• Freshman forward Sydney Raggio (San Bruno, Calif.) leads the team with 17.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest.
