Mizzou Soccer Back in Action Against Vanderbilt, Tennessee

Seeking its first SEC win of the season, Mizzou Soccer is back in action for two games this week.
Mizzou will travel to Nashville, Tenn. for a mid-week game against Vanderbilt, Thursday Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. CT.
The Tigers will return home to host Tennessee on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. CT.
Both matches will be streamed on SEC Network+

Mizzou played only once last week, battling No. 7 South Carolina to a 1-0 loss at home on Friday night.
The Tigers were short-handed with two starters missing Friday's game – as both Peyton Bauman (Flower Mound, Texas) and Madison Lewis (Zionsville, Ind.) sat out.
True freshman McKenna Sheehan (Cary, Ill.) made the first start of her career, tallying four saves in the loss.

The Commodores are off to a 2-2 start to the SEC season, and on the verge of being ranked in the United Soccer Coaches' poll.
Vanderbilt holds a goal differential of +18 (23-5), and are firing off 16.0 shots a game on the season.
Redshirt sophomore Haley Hopkins has seen the back of the net nine times in 2019 – a mark that leads the conference.

Sunday's match offers an opportunity for Mizzou to regain its footing in the SEC race. The Lady Vols enter the week with a 1-3 mark in SEC play – a Tigers win, barring a loss from Tennessee on Thursday against Georgia, would move Mizzou ahead of the Lady Vols in the standings.
Senior Ma Vignola leads Tennessee with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists) on the season, with Isabella Cook (8 points) and Alicia Donley (7 points) adding three goals apiece.
The Lady Vols have split time between Charli Pogany (484:06) and Lindsey Romig (649:53) in goal – with the latter making the most recent start.

With Peyton Bauman sidelined with an illness for the foreseeable future, true freshman McKenna Sheehan made the first start of her career against No. 7 South Carolina (Oct. 4).
Sheehan held a clean sheet for 57 minutes before allowing a goal in the box in the 58' to give the Gamecocks the win.
The Illinois-native made four saves on the night, as Sheehan withstood 16 shots from South Carolina on the night.

Schedule
