
Road Match at Wichita State on Tap for @MizzouTennis

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou tennis team travels to Wichita, Kan., to face Wichita State on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. CT at the Wichita Country Club.
The Tigers (5-1) are coming off a 4-1 win over Virginia Tech on Feb. 3 at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. Missouri won the doubles point and earned singles wins from junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks, sophomore Ellie Wright and freshman Lisa Fukutoku to dispatch the visiting Hokies. Wright's win was her team-leading sixth of the spring season, with no losses, all at the No. 4 position. Middlebrooks is 5-1 in dual matches, including a 4-1 mark at No. 1 singles. Against the Hokies, Fukutoku won six straight tiebreak points to win her first set and propel her to a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 2 action.
In doubles, Middlebrooks and Wright are a perfect 4-0 in the spring and 13-2 overall during the 2018-19 season.
Wichita State enters Wednesday's matchup 1-2 on the season, with a win over Middle Tennessee (4-1) and losses to Baylor (4-1) and No. 11 Kansas (7-0).
After Wednesday's match, the Tigers travel to Memphis, Tenn., for a pair of contests. Mizzou first takes on Memphis on Friday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. CT, followed by a match against Minnesota on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
