Mizzou will play at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis continues its spring season this weekend with a pair of home doubleheaders at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tiger will host Murray State on Saturday, Jan. 23 and Southeast Missouri State on Sunday, Jan. 24. The matches are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. CT and 1 p.m. CT on both days.
Mizzou is coming off a pair of doubleheader losses to No. 11 Oklahoma State last weekend, falling 4-1 and 4-3, on Jan. 16. Despite the pair of setbacks, Mizzou earned two ranked wins last Saturday, one each in singles and doubles competition. In doubles play, Bronte Murgett (Holmfirth, Great Britain) and Marta Oliveira (Lisbon, Portugal) defeated No. 34-ranked Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Ayumi Miyamoto, 6-3. In singles play, Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) defeated No. 77 Ayumi Miyamoto, 7-5, after she retired in the second set.
As announced yesterday and due to COVID-19 restrictions, Mizzou will not be able to accommodate fans at home indoor matches for the 2021 season. This decision was based off the SEC's COVID-19 management requirements, as developed by the SEC's Return to Activity and Medical Guidance Task Force guidelines, which are available on SECsports.com.
