
Track and Field Kicks Off Postseason at SEC Indoor Championships

Tigers Head to SEC Championships After a Successful Season
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri women's and No. 23 men's track and field teams will open the postseason at the 2025 Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, which will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Fasken Indoor Track & Field Complex, hosted by Texas A&M. Missouri will begin competition with its first event at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, 11 a.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+.
RECORD-BREAKING INDOOR SEASON FOR MIZZOU TRACK AND FIELD
Mizzou wraps up the indoor regular season with strong performances and national recognition, including a No. 23 team ranking for the men. Mizzou will send a strong contingent of athletes to compete with hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championships as the indoor season concludes.
Jonathan Seremes has been the highlight of the indoor season, breaking a 47-year-old school record in the men's triple jump with a result of 16.94m (55-7) at the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational. Sophomore Sterling Scott has also dominated in the triple jump with multiple podium finishes, at the Alexis Jarrett Invitational placing second, with a personal best of a 16.28m (53- 5) jump.
POWER IN THE FIELD
Missouri men's shot put is heading into the postseason with a No. 8 ranking.
Sam Innes, a redshirt junior, broke the school's weight throw record with a 22.98m (75-4.75) toss at the Bob Teel Invitational, a mark that stood at the top of the school record books for 15 years by Chris Rohr, with a throw of 22.71m (74-6) at the Iowa State Classic. His mark currently ranks 11th nationally. Skylar Coffey recorded a personal best in shot put with an 18.74m (61-5.75) throw, which is fifth in program history. Coffey enters the postseason ranked 36th nationally.
HIGH JUMPERS ON THE RISE
Missouri women's high jump ends the regular season with a No. 4 ranking.
Senior high jumper Kristi Perez-Snyman has been making her mark throughout the 2025 indoor season, consistently setting impressive heights in the high jump, which ranks sixth in the nation.
At the Tyson Invitational on Feb. 14, Perez-Snyman cleared 1.88 meters (6-2), setting a new program record. As well as senior high jumper Claudina Diaz cleared 1.85 meters (6-0.75), setting a new personal best and ranking her 14th nationally.
Their hard work and determination in the high jump event make them athletes to watch this week as they strive for a spot at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
SEREMES TO THE TOP
Seremes, a sophomore, has been on a record-breaking streak this indoor season, continuing to dominate the men's triple jump. At the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational on Feb. 1, Seremes secured the top spot in Mizzou's all-time records and took the top result nationally for triple jump this season, standing in front of second-place Brandon Green Jr. of Oklahoma by 0.2m (0-7.5).
LAST TIME OUT
At the Tyson Invitational, Drew Rogers broke the men's 3000m program record (7:56.00), with Declan Tunney (8:02.92) and Tyler Freiner (8:08.65) also finishing in the top 10. Brianna Lee posted a personal best in the women's 800m (2:09.62). Robert Hines added on a podium finish, taking third in the men's 60m (6.83).
Perez-Snyman set a school record in the women's triple jump 1.88m (6-2), while Diaz moved to second in program history 1.85m (6-0.75). Seremes won the men's triple jump for the second time this season, while Scott placed third.
Emanuele Bellanova achieved a personal best in the shot put 13.5m (44-3.5), Garik Pozecki set a personal best in the men's weight throw 20.19m and Reagan Kimrey led the women's weight throw 18.46m.
LAST TIME AT THE SEC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
At the 2024 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Scott led the way for Mizzou, earning the only podium finish of the weekend. He placed third in the men's triple jump with a jump of 16.14m (52-11.5), securing All-SEC Second Team honors. As well as ranking him as the third-best in program history, the top freshman jump nationally for the 2024 season, and the ninth-best in the NCAA.
Kelsey Schweizer finished fifth in the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:06.20, completing her second career top-five finish at the SEC Indoor Championships. In the women's high jump, Diaz cleared 1.80m (5-10 3/4), finishing seventh.
