
Track & Field Continues Outdoor Season at Raleigh Relays, Battle on the Bayou

Members of the distance squad will represent Mizzou at Raleigh Relays, while the rest of the team will head to Baton Rouge.
COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri track and field will compete at the Raleigh Relays and the Battle on the Bayou for its second week of the outdoor season.
The distance squad is sending 14 Tigers to represent Mizzou at the Raleigh Relays, which will run from Thursday to Saturday at NC State's Paul Derr Track, while the remainder of the team will compete at LSU's Bernie Moore Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
Mizzou will begin its weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina at 3:15 p.m. with the men's 1500m.
RANKED TIGERS
Mizzou has five women and five men representatives ranked in the top 50 of their individual event rankings following its opening meet at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
The women are led by Kaesha George's 15th-ranked javelin throw of 48.75m (159-11) at the opening meet, which set a personal best by nearly four meters. She is joined in the top 50 by fellow javelin throwers Val Galligan (22),Lexi Craig (30) and Jennifer Hinkle (49). Ames Burton rounds out the group representing the discus group, after her personal-best throw of 13.76m (163-9) set a new personal best to place her 44th nationally.
On the men's field side, the group is headlined by Skylar Coffey, whose 57.03m (187-1) discus throw and 18.04m (59-2.25) shot put result ranks him 15th and 20th in the country, respectively. He is joined by No. 23 Tarique Georgeand No. 44 Rece Rowan in the discus rankings. Mizzou's men's track rankings consists of Brenden Heitzig's 5000m time of 14:21.75, which ranks 29th, and Ryan Eddington's 3:48.65 in the 1500m, which is the 49th-best in the country. Robert Hines, Kaden Hamner, Izaiah Hill and Steven Marks' time of 40.51 in the 4x100 placed them 45th overall.
LAST TIME OUT
To open its season, Mizzou saw two performances break into the school's top 10 record books last weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta. On the first day, George's 48.74m in women's javelin secured the No. 10 spot in school history. The men's 4x100m relay team of Hines, Hammer, Hill and Marks also made history, running 40.51 seconds to claim the No. 9 program mark.
The Tigers secured multiple podium finishes over the weekend. Marks took silver in the men's 100m (10.52), with Hines just one-hundredth of a second behind for bronze. Coffey placed second in men's discus with his throw of 57.03m, while Eddington claimed third in the men's 1500m (3:48.65). In the women's 200m, Brooke Sawatzky set a personal best at 25.76.
In total, 14 Missouri student-athletes notched personal records in its first outdoor meet of the 2025 campaign. Hill ran 48.34 in the men's 400m, while Hertzig set a new best in the men's 5000m (14:21.75). The Tigers also had strong performances in the field events, with Burton finishing fourth in women's discus (49.91m) and Anna Vedral placing seventh in women's pole vault (3.55m).
PRIOR OUTDOOR CAMPAIGN
Missouri concluded its prior outdoor season at the 2024 NCAA Track and Field Championships, with big finishing placements from Sterling Scott and Weber. Scott ended his first year in 14th-place finish in the men's triple jump, while Weber capped off his collegiate career with a fourth-place finish in men's discus.
2025 INDOOR SEASON CONCLUDES
Missouri captured a national title and multiple All-America accolades to conclude indoor season March 15 at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Sophomore Jonathan Seremes became the program's first National Champion in triple jump. Seremes' win marked the fourth time Mizzou has won a national title at the NCAA Indoor Championships on the men's side. Seremes joins Robin Lingle (1,000-yard run, 1965), the 1974 Distance Medley Relay team and Derrick Peterson (800m, 1999) as Mizzou's NCAA indoor champions on the men's side.
Seremes locked up first place following the fourth round, where he recorded 16.94m (55-7) to reclaim the top spot. His final jump of 17.04m (55-11), broke his program record in the event and concluded the indoor season as the best in the nation.
Scott and Sermes were both named First Team All-Americans. Scott finished in eight-place in the men's triple jump with 16.04m (52-7.5). Euphenie Andre hit a personal best in her final collegiate meet on the women's triple jump with a sixth-place finish (13.55m), while Kristi Perez-Snyman also took sixth place in the women's high jump with 1.85m (6-0.75).
Junior Sam Innes claimed Second Team All-American honors after placing 14th overall in weight throwing, becoming the team's first weight thrower since 2009 to earn All-American status. Claudina Diaz joined him on the Second Team with a 15th-place finish in women's high jump (1.75m, 5-8.75).
