
Ten Tigers Reach Finals on Fourth Day of SEC Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Ten Tigers competed in the final rounds of competition during the fourth day of SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
The Tiger women qualified three swimmers into the 100 fly finals. Paige Striley led the squad with a 12th place finish and a time of 52.81. Swimming in the same heat, Zara Zallen and Kylee Sullivan finished in 20th and 22nd with times of 52.75 and 52.90.
On the men's side, Luke Nebrich led the way in the C final with a NCAA qualifying standard time of 46.07 and 17th place finish. Senior Jan Zubik closely trailed in 18th with a 46.15 time.
Sophomore Megan Jolly found her way to the consolation final for the second time this meet. The Rockford, Michigan, native took ninth in the women's 3-meter diving competition with a score of 318.70. Gabriela San Juan Carmona just missed the consolation with a 17th place finish and 271.35 mark.
In the 400 IM, Zoe Schneider and Piper McNeil represented the Tigers' women's squad in the finals. Schneider swam her career best and NCAA qualifying standard time of 4:11.73 to finish 12th. McNeil followed with a 4:14.82 swim to come in 21st.
For the men, Matthew Mortenson finished the 400 IM in 16th place with a NCAA qualifying standard swim of 3:45.94.
Mizzou's 400 medley relay squads both finished ninth in the conference. Libby Bakker, Karolina Bank, Striley and Zallen swam a 3:34.33 in the event. On the men's side, Quinlan Gould, Logan Ottke, Zubik and Nebrich put up a 3:06.31.
