
Men’s Golf Finishes Campaign at SEC Championship

The Mizzou men's golf team completed its 2025-26 season at the SEC Championship on Friday, placing 15th at the conference tournament.
Freshman Esteban Cruz Bonilla led the Tigers throughout the tournament, placing first on the team and 35th overall with a final two-under tally. It marked the first time that Cruz Bonilla led the Tigers at a tournament this season and the first time a freshman led Mizzou at the SEC Championship since 2023 as he added a final-round 71 for his two-under score (68-69-71).
Senior Virgilio Paz was second on the team at +1 (64-75-72), highlighting the final day with an eagle three on the par-5 15th hole. Junior Veikka Viskari was third for Mizzou at +3 (69-74-70), leading the Tigers with a final round at even par. Sophomore Trent Mierl rounded out the scoring for MU with a final tally of +7 (73-73-71).
Overall, Mizzou finished the tournament at +9 with its 849 strokes an improvement of 17 strokes from a season ago.
