After three days and 54 holes of stroke play, the top eight teams in the standings advance to match play, with the quarterfinals and semifinals set for Saturday and the championship slated for Sunday. Sunday's title bout is also set to air live on SEC Network and Saturday's semifinal on SEC Network+.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Rated No. 1 in the U.S. among the "World's 50 Best Golf Hotels" by Golf Digest Index, Sea Island Golf Club offers three exceptional 18-hole championship courses. The par 70 course measures 7,005 yards in length.
SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Competing in the most competitive conference in the country, the 2026 field includes four schools in the top five nationally, 10 in the top 20 and 14 in the top 50.
TIGERS AT THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP
Set to compete in their 13th SEC Championship since joining the conference in 2012 and ninth since the league moved to a combined stroke play and match play championship, the Tigers have advanced to the quarterfinals three times (2017, 2022 and 2023).
2025-26 SEASON RECAP
Veikka Viskari has led the Tigers throughout the 2025-26 regular season, posting a 71.90 stroke average. He has collected one title and three top-10 performances, while leading Mizzou in scoring in six of 10 tournaments (has placed in top two in all 10 tournaments).
Trent Mierl and Virgilio Paz rank second and third on the team in scoring, posting a 73.03 and 73.47 stroke average, respectively. They have each led the team in scoring twice this season.
COMING IN HOT
The good news for the Tigers is that they head into the conference championship on the heels of their best performance of the season. Mizzou won the Tiger Intercollegiate earlier this month, defeating Iowa State by seven strokes for its first title of the season.
Individually, Veikka Viskari won his first title of his collegiate career with four Tigers placing in the top 10 – Esteban Cruz Bonilla (3rd), Virgilio Paz (9th) and Trent Mierl (9th). Cruz Bonilla earned SEC Freshman of the Week accolades after his first collegiate top-five finish.
