
Elijah Limo Crowned 3000m Steeplechase Champion on Day Two of the Drake Relays

The sophomore topped the competition and notched the fifth-best mark in program history.
DES MOINES, Iowa – Mizzou track and field's Elijah Limo claimed the victory in the 3000m steeplechase on day two of the Drake Relays.
TOP TIGERS
Limo earned the champion title after tallying a result of 8:47.51, ranking fifth all-time in program history.
Brianna Utecht competed in the heptathlon and finished fourth overall with 5,462 points, the sixth-best mark in MU history and only a single point away from tying the No. 5 all-time result. Utecht placed third in five events: shot put, 200m, long jump, javelin throw and 100m hurdles, securing the program's 10th highest result for the latter with a 13.95.
RECAP
In the women's 1500m, Kobi Walker finished on the podium in third with a 4:33.51. Mirriam Chepkirui followed in fifth, securing a personal best of 4:33.93.
Brianna Lee earned fifth in the 800m with a 2:11.93 to place among the top 25% of the field.
The 5000m race saw Natalie Barnard notch sixth with a 17:36.63. Elissa Barnard came in eighth with a personal record of 17:52.23.
On the men's side, Joshua Allison finished third in the 3000m steeplechase with a 8:57.79.
Tyler Freiner picked up a podium spot in third for the 5000m with a 14:19.14. Joseph Bariola followed in fourth with a personal best of 14:31.87.
