
Track and Field Notches Three Champion Titles During Day Three of Drake Relays

Dillon Leacock, Lasse Funck and Monica Wanjiku represented the Tigers in winning their respective events.
DES MOINES, Iowa – Missouri track and field's Dillon Leacock, Lasse Funck and Monica Wanjiku took home champion titles for their events on Friday during the Drake Relays at Drake Stadium.
TOP TIGERS
Leacock claimed the men's 400m hurdles victory with a time of 50.68, topping a field of 20 competitors and besting his previous No. 3 all-time record for Missouri.
Funck was named champion in the 1500m after establishing a time of 3:43.97.
Wanjiku, in her first time running the 1500m, crossed the finish line in 4:17.15. The result stands as No. 3 on the all-time charts for Missouri.
Mizzou alum Mitch Weber won the men's discus championship with a mark of 61.05m (200-3), the only athlete to surpass the 60m margin.
RECAP
Senior Robert Hines crossed the finish line for the 100m in 10.37, clinching third and qualifying for finals on Saturday, scheduled for 1:04 p.m.
Junior Suzy Lecoutre followed Wanjiku in the 1500m in third with a 4:22.33. Freshman Morgan Yeomans came in fourth with a personal best of 4:24.68.
The Tigers took home fifth place finishes for both the men's and women's 4x1600 Relay. Brianna Lee, Kobi Walker, Mirriam Chepkirui and Allison Newman recorded a 19:51.46. A men's squad of Joshua Allison, Tyler Freiner, Ryder James and Elijah Limo clocked a 16.42.53 to finish in the top 38% of the field.
For the field events, junior Chase Crawford took fifth place among a group of 22 in shot put, throwing a 17.12m (56-2).
In the women's pole vault, Anna Vedral finished seventh with a 3.78m (12-4.75) to improve her previous No. 9 all-time result for MU.
