Junior Veikka Viskari punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship on Wednesday, earning an invite to the Marana, Arizona, regional.
Viskari is the first Tiger to represent Mizzou at the regional rounds of the NCAA Championship since Mizzou earned a team bid in 2024. He is also the first to qualify as an individual since Ross Steelman earned an invite in 2021.
During his junior campaign, Viskari has led Mizzou with a team-best 71.82 stroke average in 2025-26 – an improvement of 1.76 strokes from his sophomore season. He has led the Tigers in six of the team's 11 tournaments this season with his individual crown at the 2026 Tiger Intercollegiate – his first collegiate title – in April highlighting his season.
Viskari is joined by 14 teams in the regional – No. 5 Oklahoma State, No. 8 LSU, No. 18 Arizona, No. 20 Alabama, No. 29 Duke, No. 33 Clemson, No. 41 San Diego State, No. 44 Arkansas State, West Virginia, Florida Gulf Coast, Saint Mary's, Tarleton State, North Dakota State and Iona – in addition to four individuals in Rudy Sautron (Nebraska), Dylan Teeter (UTEP), Javier Delgadillo (New Mexico State) and Trevor Algya (Loyola Marymount).
The regional is set to run from May 18-20 at The Gallery Golf Club. The top five teams and the top individual not on an advancing team will move on from each of the six regionals to the national championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, May 29-June 3.
