Kenzie Kostas is in her second season with Missouri women's basketball after joining Kellie Harper's staff in March of 2025.
During the 2025–26 season, Kenzie Kostas was part of the coaching staff that helped lead the Missouri Tigers women's basketball to a 17–17 overall record and a 4–12 mark in Southeastern Conference play. The campaign marked the first season for the Missouri staff, as the group worked to establish a strong foundation for the program’s future.
Missouri ranked among the nation’s best at the free-throw line, finishing 16th nationally and first in the SEC with a 77.9% free-throw percentage. The Tigers also showcased their perimeter shooting, ranking 30th nationally and fourth in the SEC in 3-pointers made, averaging 8.5 per game during the season.
With a focus on post player development, Scruggs worked closely with Jordana Reisma and Slaughter, improving their rebounding in a dominant conference. Slaughter averaged 6.7 rebounds per game, ranked 13th in the SEC. Similarly, Reisma grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game and ranked 24th in the conference.
Kostas was part of the staff that supported the breakout performance of Grace Slaughter, who led Missouri with 18.6 points per game and eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone during the year. Slaughter finished sixth in the SEC in scoring while earning a spot on the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year preseason and midseason watchlists and 2025–26 All-SEC Second Team honors.
Missouri also received strong contributions from beyond the arc, as Chloe Sotell and Abbey Schreacke ranked 11th and 16th in the SEC, respectively, in 3-pointers made per game. Away from the court, Schreacke was recognized for her service and leadership with a selection to the 2025–26 SEC Community Service Team.
The Tigers made a post-season appearance in the WBIT tournament, advancing to the second round. The 2025–26 campaign marked the first season for the Missouri coaching staff, with Kostas helping establish the foundation for continued growth within the program.
Kostas, who previously played under Harper at Missouri State came to the Tigers after spending the past three seasons on staff with the Lady Bears.
In 2024-25, she helped guide Missouri State to the second round of the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament after posting a 26-9 overall record, which included a 16-4 mark against Missouri Valley Conference opponents. The Lady Bears earned numerous postseason accolades including defensive player of the year, sixth player of the year, all-newcomer team and all-freshman team.
During the 2023-24 season, Kostas coached the Lady Bears to a 23-10 record and third-place result in the MVC regular season standings following a 15-5 league record. Missouri State advanced to the MVC Tournament championship game and capped the season with an appearance in the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT).
Kostas developed DII transfer Lacy Stokes to MVC Newcomer of the Year honors after being named MVC Newcomer of the Week on nine occasions. Kostas also helped coach Lady Bears' athletes to five other postseason accolades.

Central Missouri qualified for the NCAA postseason in each of her four years as an assistant coach. In the 2020-21 season, the Jennies made a trip to the NCAA Final Four after winning the program's eighth Regional Championship.
