
No. 24 Missouri Falls to No. 4 Nebraska

Columbia, Mo.-The Mizzou gymnastics team picked up their second loss of the season to the No. 4 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers. Despite the loss, several Tigers delivered solid performances for Missouri including all-around competitor Lindsay Davis who scored a 9.900 on the uneven bars to tie Mizzou's junior record on the event and set a new personal career high.
In addition to her record tying bar routine, Davis also posted a 9.725 on the balance beam and a 9.750 on the floor exercise. She scored a 9.35 on the vault to score a 38.725 as the only all-around competitor during the meet.
The remainder of the Tiger upperclass did their part as well during the tough conference match. Junior Andrea Nervig put up strong marks for the third straight meet. She opened the session scoring a 9.500 on vault before hitting a 9.825 on the uneven bars. Nervig topped off the evening scoring a 9.875 on the floor exercise repeating the mark for the second straight meet.
Junior Rachel Bridges scored a 9.800 on the floor exercise to rival her 9.850 vault from her previous meet against Pittsburgh. She also posted a firm 9.775 on the balance beam to boost Mizzou.
Topping the Tiger floor lineup, senior Alina Hamm started Missouri off on a good foot scoring a 9.825 on the floor exercise. The mark rivals her career-mark on the apparatus-her fourth 9.825 personal high. She also recorded a 9.725 on the vault.
Representing the underclass in grand fashion, freshman Jodie Heinicka put up a 9.700 on vault paving the way for sophomore Alisha Robinson to bring up Mizzou's score with a 9.775 on the event. In the second rotation, freshman Katie Roets scored a 9.675 to boost Missouri and fellow freshman Lauren Schwartzman scored a 9.850 on the floor exercise to help the Tigers record their eighth highest all-time floor score with a 49.125 team total.
Despite their valiant efforts, Missouri fell to Nebraska 196.100 - 193.00. The Tigers also drop to 1-2 on the year with a 1-1 record in the Big 12 Conference.
Looking forward to another home venue, the Tigers host Illinois State in the Hearnes Center next Thurs., January 30 at 7:00 p.m.
