Provo, Utah - The Missouri Tigers summed up the 2003 regular season with a 10-7 season record to post its first winning season mark since 1996 when Mizzou went 11-7 on their way to a Big Eight Championship. Despite losing to Brigham Young in its last meet of the regular season, the Mizzou lineup put forth a fighting effort in the 195.700-194.675 loss.
The Tigers opened the meet scoring a 48.450 on the uneven bars. Alisha Robinson led Mizzou scoring a 9.850 followed by Andrea Nervig's 9.825. In addition, freshman Katie Roets posted a 9.725 and senior Alina Hamm, competing in her first uneven bars routine of the 2003 season, scored a 9.650.
Opening Mizzou's second rotation, Hamm again stepped up for the Tigers scoring a 9.775 to record her second-highest vault of the year. Junior Rachel Bridges put up her fifth 9.850 career-high score to help boost Missouri. Performing her signature round-off entry backhand to a full twist vault, Robinson scored a 9.900 to tie her second-highest season mark. Following up freshman Lauren Schwartman scored a 9.875 to tie her career-high and Andrea Nervig scored a 9.625. The lineup rallied a 49.025 team score to jump start Missouri and claim the sixth-highest all-time vault mark.
Missouri went on a solid run on the floor exercise opening with a 9.725 performance by Hamm. Lindsay Davis and Rachel Bridges followed up 9.825 routines and Nervig put up the Tigers' floor high scoring a 9.8725 to bring Missouri to a 48.575 team score.
Nailing their beam series, the Tigers posted five 9.8 or above marks on their final event to post a 48.600 beam total. Bridges opened the round scoring a 9.825 leading to Rachael Dombart's 9.800 score and back-to-back 9.850 routines from Davis and Schwartzman.
Competing in the all-around competition, Hamm led Missouri scoring a 38.449 performing in her first all-around on the year. Robinson recorded a 37.975 and Davis posted a 37.950 four-event total.
Missouri returns to its home arena when the Tigers host the Big 12 Championship next Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
