Missouri Defeats Iowa State 186-114

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri women's swimming and diving team wanted nothing more than to win their last meet of the year and send the seniors out on a positive note. They did just that as they defeated Big 12 opponent Iowa State 186-114.
Missouri started the meet off strong finishing in first place in six of the first seven events prior to the first intermission for diving.
The Missouri seniors took charge of the meet and made it known that they wanted to win. Rebecca Wolfe, Sarah Lo, Ellen Borgo and Andrea Nigh all finished in first place in their individual events.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Missouri finished 1-2-3 as Wolfe, Becca Dawson and Belinda Wood took the top spots. In the 50-yard freestyle, Missouri's Andrea Nigh and Liz Schoborg finished first and second.
In the diving events, Anna Massey finished second, Kim Massaro finished third and Nicole Frazier took sixth place on the 1-meter board. On the 3-meter board, the ladies finished 1-2-3. Massaro took top honors followed by Massey and Frazier.
After top free stylist, Andrea Nigh was disqualified in the 100-yard freestyle for a false start it was unclear as to who would win the event, but in the last 25 yards of the race Missouri's Lindsay Palbykin came from behind and finished first by .14 seconds.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Missouri was again able to take the top-thee spots as Liz Schoborg, Belinda Wood and Rebecca Wolfe dominated the race.
In the last event of the meet, the Missouri women finished first and third in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
"Our seniors really stepped up today. This was the last dual meet of their career and they really wanted to win and they managed to do just that," said Head Coach Brian Hoffer.
