LINCOLN, Neb. - The 25th-ranked Missouri women's swimming and diving team won eight of 14 races and both diving events as it concluded the regular-season with a 169.5-122.5 win at Nebraska on Saturday.
Multiple winners for the Tigers (8-2, 3-1 Big 12) included Jill Bastien in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, Shannon Hogan in the 50 and 100 freestyle and diver Kendra Melnychuk in both the 1- and 3-meter springboards.
Missouri held a slim 19-16 lead after the first two events before the Tigers turned in 1-2-3 sweeps in 200 free and 100 back to stretch the lead to 51-22.
"We came out with very good intensity today," MU Head Coach Brian Hoffer said. "It feels very good to go on the road and swim well against a Big 12 opponent on their Senior Day."
Colleen Gordon won gold in the aforementioned 200 free in addition to clocking the fastest time in the 200 IM as an exhibition race.
Both of Melnychuck's diving victories were by double-digits as senior Kim Massaro scored with a pair of fourth-place finishes.
Mizzou also swam the fastest times in both relays.
Both Missouri squads will be off until the Big 12 Championships, held Feb. 14-17 in College Station, Texas, at the Texas A&M Student Recreation Complex.
