GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Mizzou swimming and diving team earned a 14th-place finish with a program record 100 points at the 2015 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships this week. The Tigers' finish of 14th tied the best NCAA finish in program history, as they also took 14th in 2012 and 2013.
Over the course of the three-day meet, two Mizzou relays earned first team All-America honors for the first time in program history, including the school record fourth-place finish in the 400 medley relay. Senior Danielle Barbiea closed out her Tiger career seventh in the 100 fly to mark her first individual first team All-America honors. Additionally, Missouri combined to earn seven individual honorable mention All-America honors.
On Saturday, redshirt junior Abby Duncan and freshman Sharli Brady each earned their second All-America honorable mention accolades of the meet. With Brady's two All-America honors at the meet, she became the first Mizzou freshman swimmer in program history to earn multiple All-America honors.
Brady capped her meet with a finish of 13 in the 200 fly. She dropped her own school mark to 1:55.05 in the consolation final to take fifth in the heat. The freshman also took 12th in the 400 IM on Thursday.
Duncan took 11th overall in the 200 breast after lowering her school record to 2:08.74 with a third-place finish in consolation finals. Yesterday, Duncan placed 13th in the 100 breast.
The Tigers' 400 free relay team of Barbiea, freshman Rachel Hayden, Stevens and junior Anna Patterson finished 22nd overall in a time of 3:17.52.
