COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf travels to Hoover, Ala., this weekend (April 21-23) for the 2017 Southeastern Conference Championship. The Tigers and the rest of the conference's programs will compete for three days at Greystone Golf and Country Club.
The Tigers are one of 14 teams competing in this year's edition of the SEC Championships. Mizzou will be joined by Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
The Crimson Tide enter this weekend as the favorites, as they've tallied three tournament wins this season with a 285.73 average team score. Alabama is also the defending SEC Championship team winner, while Mizzou finished in ninth place a season ago.
At the 2016 SEC Championships, sophomore Amanda Kim led the way individually for the Tigers, shooting 2-over (218: 70-75-73) en route to a tied for ninth place finish.

Tigers Finish Strong at LSU Tiger Classic
- Mizzou completed its stay at the 2017 LSU Tiger Classic (March 26) with a weekend-low round of 292. The Tigers' strong final round propelled them to a sixth place team finish (896: 300-304-292).
- Mizzou's strong final round was led by senior Jessica Meek, as she tallied a season-best 69. Overall, Meek turned in arguably her best performance of the season, finishing T-16th (220: 75-76-69) in the individual rankings.
- Freshman Jessica Yuen paced all Mizzou individual competitors in Baton Rouge, producing a 3-over (219: 72-74-73) total score at the University Golf Club.
- Yuen placed T-11th overall, marking her fourth top 15 individual finish during the 2016-17 campaign.
Allen & Yuen Enjoying Individual Success
- Yuen and sophomore Emma Allen have been the Tigers' most consistent golfers over the 2016-17 campaign, ranking T-19th and 23rd respectively in the latest Southeastern Conference GolfStat.com individual rankings.
- Yuen currently sits with a 73.00 average score this year, while Allen has produced a 73.13 average round.
- Allen has shot even or under par in four tournaments this season, while Yuen has accomplished the same feat on three occasions.
Tigers Enjoyed Standout Fall 2016 Season
- From Oct. 3-4 in Columbia, Mo., Mizzou claimed top honors at the 2016 Johnie Imes Invitational, marking its third consecutive team victory at the event.
- Mizzou's 864 team score at the Johnie marked the program's third-lowest all-time 54-hole team total.
- The Tigers continued their success the following week at the Jim West Challenge (Oct. 9-10), shooting an 878 total score, marking the ninth-lowest all-time 54-hole score in program history.
- Mizzou tallied two top 10 all-time 18-hole team scores this fall (282 at Johnie Imes – seventh lowest, 283 at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown – tied for ninth lowest).
- Since the Fall 2015 season began (1.5-year span), Mizzou has produced three team tournament wins.
- The Tigers continue to show substantial improvement overall, as they claimed only three team victories the previous five years (Fall 2009 – Fall 2013).
