Sophomore Amanda Kim paces Tigers with 5-over weekend
TEMPE, Ariz. – Mizzou Women's Golf wrapped up its Spring 2017 finale Sunday afternoon at the PING / Arizona State Invitational, finishing T-10th overall. The Tigers collectively shot 27-over (891: 299-295-297) this weekend at the Karsten Golf Course.
"I was really happy for Amanda (Kim)," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "She played really consistently over the last three days. We had a lot of looks at birdie as a team that we just weren't connecting on this weekend. That was a bit frustrating to not see those putts fall."
"Heading into the SEC Tournament, we have still not played our best golf so we have a few things to work on to get everybody connecting on all cylinders. We definitely have the ability, but we just need to start all connecting on the same day."
Sophomore Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.) delivered one of her top performances this season, finishing T-29th overall in the individual rankings. Kim shot 5-over (221: 76-72-73) over her three rounds, as the 221 total score marked her second-lowest tournament total this season.
Kim and senior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) each recorded team-low rounds of 72 (even par) over the course of the weekend. Meek's 72 occurred on Friday's opening round, as she finished 7-over (223: 72-77-74) for the weekend. Freshman Jessica Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) joined Meek with a final tournament score of 7-over (223: 75-73-75).
The Tigers were rounded out this weekend by a 9-over (225: 76-73-76) from sophomore Cayce Hendrickson (Benton, Ky.), 12-over (228: 78-75-75) from junior Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland) and 13-over (229: 78-75-78) from sophomore Emma Allen (Southampton, England).
