Yuen, Allen led Mizzou individually
Tuscon, Ariz. - Mizzou Women's Golf completed its second tournament of the spring campaign, finishing tied for 11th overall at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. The Tigers had a total score of 35-over (899) for the tournament after posting 19-over (307) in the final round on Tuesday. Mizzou competed in a talented field of 17 teams, with seven of the teams currently ranked in the GolfStat Top-50 rankings. Mizzou led the field in total number of pars at the Sewailo Golf Club.
"This event is going to sting a bit," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer said. "When you have an opportunity to compete against the best teams in the country you want to bring your 'A game' and we just didn't have it this week. We had a fast start yesterday morning and we hit our targets and really did what we wanted to do."
Junior Emma Allen led the team throughout the tournament finishing 7-over after posting a total score of 223. Allen moved up from her spot tied for 32nd to tying for 30th after her final round of 18 shooting 4-over (76).
Sophomore Jessica Yuen completed the event tied for 30th as well, after leading the team Tuesday and accumulating three birdies during her final round. Yuen turned in a score of 3-over (75) for the day and finished with a total score of 7-over (223).
Junior Amanda Kim finished her third event of the season tied for 45th and 10-over after 54 holes. Kim ended her final round of the invitational 5-over (77). She tallied two eagles throughout the invitational.
"It was great to see Amanda back in the lineup," Priesmeyer said. "She competed well for us."
Junior Cayce Hendrickson finished tied for 55th after shooting 8-over (80) on Tuesday. Senior Clara Young concluded her day tied for 62nd with a score of 7-over (79) in the final round.
