Mizzou Divers Earn Two Top Five Finishes During Day One Action at Bruin Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES - Mizzou diving teams posted two top five finishes during day one action at the 2020 Bruin Diving Invitational Friday afternoon at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
TOP TIGERS
Freshmen Leonardo Garcia Varela (Cali, Colombia) and Carlo Lopez (Edmonton, Alberta) both placed in the top five on Friday.
Garcia Varela finished fourth on men's 3-meter after a two-round total of 702.0 points, with 361.15 points in the final and 340.85 in preliminary action. His total was just over a point out of third place.
Finishing fifth was Lopez, who recorded 671.7 points in his two rounds on Friday. The freshman went for 351.4 points in prelims and 320.3 in finals.
