NASHVILLE – Despite having the early momentum, Mizzou Soccer (4-7, 0-4 SEC) could not get into rhythm at Vanderbilt (5-5-3, 2-1-1 SEC), falling 5-0.
The Tigers fired the first three shots of the match, but Vanderbilt was quickly able to take control.
In the 33rd minute, Elwell was able to get on the board after a cross made its way across the outside of the 18-yard box and she struck it into the bottom right corner with her left foot.
The Commodores added another with just four minutes to go in the first half to take a two-goal advantage into the break.
Vandy quickly scored to open the second period of play. Nquyen got on the board after a long throw in from the left sideline bounced around in the box and was eventually driven home.
The Dores added two more in the 58th and 75th minutes to take the 5-0 victory over the Tigers.
