Women’s Golf Prepares to Host Annual Johnie Imes Invitational

All Tigers will be competing in the 13th annually-held event
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou Women's Golf team prepares to host their annual Johnie Imes Invitational on their home turf at the Club at Old Hawthorne this week. The three-day event kicks off on Monday, Sept. 27 and wraps up after a total of 54-holes on Wednesday, Sept. 29. This marks the 13th time hosting this event and all 11 Tigers will be competing either in a team lineup or individually. Head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer's squad looks to claim the event title for the seventh consecutive time.

The Competition Slate
The 2021 Johnie Imes Invitational competitive field features a total of 14 teams which includes two for Mizzou, along with Arkansas State, Bradley, Eastern Kentucky, Illinois State, Mercer, Missouri State, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, South Dakota, Wichita State, University of Arkansas Little Rock and University of Alabama Birmingham.

All five Tigers that competed in the fall season opener, the Sam Golden Invitational, return to the lineup for Mizzou's first team. Juniors Brianne Bolden and Sophia Yoemans led the way in the previous event, both clinching T-33 finishes. Bolden threw down two rounds under par while Yoemans tallied one, in addition to sophomore Emily Staples carding her first career round under par as well.
The second squad of Tigers are set to make their season-debut with it also marking career debuts for freshmen Julie Huggins, Idabela Cuisana and Kailyn Schell.
