
Tigers Take Second at Denver Quad

Mizzou sees three individuals take event titles, earns highest team score on floor.
DENVER — University of Missouri gymnastics took second in its first road competition of the 2025 season at the Denver Quad, earning a score of 196.125 on Sunday afternoon at Magness Arena.
The fifth-ranked Tigers took wins against Georgia (195.925) and LIU (188.075) but fell to host No. 11 Denver (196.575). Mizzou's 5-1 record marks its best start through six results since the 2017 season.
SHOW STOPPERS
Three Missouri gymnasts earned event titles in their respective events. Mara Titarsolej (Zutphen, Netherlands) began the day for the Tigers as the anchor for their first rotation on bars and claimed a share of the title with a score of 9.900. On floor, Kennedy Griffin (Strongsville, Ohio) and Jocelyn Moore (Hillsborough, New Jersey) took the day's top result after scores of 9.925.

Uneven Bars
- Titarsolej's score of 9.900 is the 30th time in her career that she has reached or surpassed the mark on bars.
- Amari Celestine's (Wildomar, California) 9.850 was the team's second-highest score on the event.
- Mizzou totaled a 49.125 on the apparatus.
Beam
- The final three Tigers finished strong, anchored by Helen Hu (Chicago, Illinois).
- Hu's 9.875 was the team's highest mark on the beam and her best of the young season.
Floor
- Mizzou took the highest floor score of the meet with 49.450.
- Through two weeks of competition, the Tigers' floor score at the Denver Quad ranks sixth nationally.
- Three of Mizzou's six individuals competing on floor earned scores of 9.900 or better. MU was the only team in the meet with a gymnast to reach or exceed the score.
- Griffin and Moore's routines, which earned a meet-best 9.925, came from the fifth and sixth spots of Mizzou's lineup, respectively.
- Hannah Horton (Brooklyn Park, Minnesota) earned a 9.900, marking her sixth career routine of 9.900 or better.
- Elise Tisler (Fairfax Station, Virginia) debuted in the Black & Gold, competing third on floor and notching a 9.875.
Vault
- Each Mizzou gymnast met or exceeded the previous Tigers' score on vault, the team's final rotation, earning a score of 48.975.
- Missouri's highest score came from the final routine of the day by Celestine, notching a 9.825.
UP NEXT
Mizzou heads to top-ranked Oklahoma to open Southeastern Conference competition on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m at Lloyd Noble Center. This marks the first time the Tigers and Sooners see each other in a dual meet since they were conference opponents in the Big 12, with the last contest coming on Feb. 17, 2012, at Hearnes Center.
