
Swimming and Diving Sweeps Vanderbilt and McKendree in Double Dual

Women's squad beat Vanderbilt 236-57 and McKendree 244-40. Men's squad beat McKendree 213.5-85.5.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri swimming and diving dominated their double dual competition at Mizzou Aquatic Center sweeping 16 events against Vanderbilt and McKendree.
Mizzou's women team beat Vanderbilt 236-57 and McKendree 244-40 and the men's team won 213.5-85.5 against McKendree. Both squads improve to 3-0 against McKendree, and the women's squad moves to 3-0 over Vanderbilt.
"I'm very proud of how the athletes put the focus on organizing, implementing and executing their processes from the moment they showed up this morning through the entire meet," Mizzou Head Coach Andrew Grevers said. "The Tigers focused on the right things and are growing and getting better because of it. We seem to have our heads in the right place as we look forward to the Mizzou Invite in three weeks."
For the women, Zara Zallen recorded two wins in the freestyle column, one in the 200 free (1:47.60) and the other in the 100 free (49.22). Karolina Bank also scored first in 100 breast (1:00.10) and 200 breast (2:14.10).
Freshman, Libby Bakker dominated in the 100 back (54.21) and 200 back (1:58.12). Zoe Schneider took away her first two wins of the season in the 500 free (4:49.62) and 400 IM (4:15.70).
Transfers continued to show out for the Tigers with Quinlan Gould adding a pair of wins, scoring gold in 200 back (1:44.16) and 100 back (46.47). Sophomore Brady Johnson earned his first wins as a Tiger in the 100 breast (53.73) and as part of the 400 free relay (2:53.29).
Woodbury, Minn. native, Matthew Mortenson picked up his first pair of collegiate wins in the 200 breast (1:57.87) and 400 IM (3:50.28).
Collier Dyer tallied two victories on the day, the first in 1-meter diving (369.83) and the other on 3-meter (362.63). For the women, Gabriela San Juan Carmona won 3-meter diving (316.50) and Mia Henninger took gold in 1-meter diving (289.58).
The Tigers also swept relays to begin and finish the meet, with women's 200 medley relay taking the gold with a 1:37.82 time and a 3:20.14 400 free relay finish. The men's team also took both events, clocking in at 1:25.20 for the 200 medley relay and 2:53.29 for the 400 free.
NOTABLE RESULTS
- Luke Nebrich took victories in 50 free (19.03) and 100 free (42.59).
- Francois Malherbe reached gold in 200 free (1:38.14).
- Peyton Drexler dominated in 1000 free, recording a time of 9:52.65 and winning the event.
- Grace Hanson took a win in 50 free with a time of 23.42.
- Maeve DeYoung capitalized in the 200 fly, hitting a time of 1:59.40 and taking gold in the race.
- Jan Zubik earned gold in 200 fly with a 1:41.99 time.
- Paige Striley reached a time of 53.21 in 100 fly and achieved first.

The Tigers' diving team heads to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational, November 13-15. Swim will next compete at the Mizzou Invite, hosted in Columbia, November 20-22.
