Women’s Basketball Tops Bradley in Ft. Myers Tip-Off

Mizzou women's basketball defeated Bradley 73-66 in the Ft. Myers Tip-Off Friday afternoon at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Florida.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter guided Mizzou with a double-double performance of 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Senior forward Jordana Reisma added 13 points and seven boards.
Sophomore guard Chloe Sotell contributed 14 points behind a four-of-nine performance from beyond the arc.
Junior guard Shannon Dowell poured in 11 points and seven rebounds.
Four Tigers scored in double figures for the sixth time this season.
Slaughter powered the Mizzou following the opening tip as the junior scored the Tigers first 14 points of the contest and single handedly exceeded Bradley's offensive production through the opening nine minutes as Missouri held a two-point lead.
Riesma closed the quarter with a layup in the paint to give the Tigers a 16-15 advantage after one.
Bradley battled back and took a five-point lead early in the second, but baskets by senior guard Jayla Smith and Slaughter cut the Mizzou deficit to one in the heart of the frame.
Tied with just over a minute remaining before the break, junior guard Abbey Schreacke connected on a triple from the left side of the arc to give Mizzou a 30-27 lead at the half.
Leading by one early in the third, Dowell buried a 3-pointer that sparked a 16-4 Missouri scoring charge that was capped with a triple by Slaughter. Sotell converted a pair of attempts from beyond the arc in the run that expanded the Tigers' advantage to 48-35.
Late buckets by Reisma and Dowell gave Mizzou a 54-47 lead entering the fourth.
Bradley cut the margin to five early in the final frame, but a quick 12-4 spurt by Mizzou's offense stretched the lead back to 13 and put the game out of reach. Four Tigers scored in the run that was capped off with a 3-pointer from Smith.
Mizzou dished 18 assists and scored 38 points in the paint in the victory.
