
Women's Basketball Closes Regular Season Road Campaign at No. 3 South Carolina

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou women's basketball will travel to face No. 3 South Carolina at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Colonial Life Arena. The contest will be broadcast on SEC Network and the Tiger Radio Network.
Mizzou (16-13, 4-10 SEC) enters the contest following a loss to No. 7 LSU on Sunday.
Junior guard Grace Slaughter led Mizzou with 14 points. Slaughter has scored in double figures in every contest this season.
Sophomore guard Chloe Sotell added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Slaughter is 31st in the country and fifth in the SEC with 18.9 points this season. The junior has played 40 or more minutes in three contests and is 18th in the country and second in the SEC with 35.7 minutes per game this year.
In addition, the junior has nearly doubled her rebounding average from 3.6 to 6.7 per game this season.
Slaughter needs two points to pass Morgan Eye (2011-15) for 15th on the program's all-time scoring list and is just 26 points shy of passing Sophie Cunningham for the 10th most points scored in a single-season.
Slaughter was named to the Cheryl Miller Award Small Forward of the Year Mid-Season Watch List on Feb. 4.
On the season, Mizzou is ranked 23rd in the country and fifth in the SEC in 3-point percentage at 35.7%.
Missouri is 26th nationally and fourth in the SEC with 8.5 makes from beyond the arc per game.
Mizzou ranks 12th in the country and first in the SEC in free-throw percentage at 78.5%.
Opposite the scoring end, Mizzou is 29th in the country and fourth in the league in defensive rebounding with 28.4 per game.
South Carolina enters Thursday at 27-2, including a 13-1 mark in SEC play, following a win over Ole Miss on Sunday.
Head coach Dawn Staley is in her 18th season at the helm of the program with a 475-100 record. In her 25-year head coaching career, Staley has a 647-190 record.
South Carolina's roster is headlined by sophomore forward Joyce Edwards, who averages 20.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.
Sunday will mark the 17th game between the teams. South Carolina leads the all-time series 12-4.
