
Softball Signs Georgia Infielder Tyah Charlton

Charlton joins the Tigers after appearing in 11 games for the Bulldogs in 2026
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou softball has added transfer infielder Tyah Charlton (Lynchburg, Va./Amherst County HS) from Georgia, head coach Larissa Anderson announced on Friday, June 26.
"We're excited to welcome Tyah to Mizzou. She was a highly recruited players in her class, and her time at Georgia has given her firsthand experience competing in the toughest conference in college softball," Anderson said. "She understands what it takes to succeed in the SEC, and now it's about getting consistent everyday reps to continue her development. Tyah has tremendous upside, and we believe her best softball is still ahead of her. The future is incredibly bright for her in a Mizzou uniform."
Carlton joins the Tigers after finishing up her first two years in Athens, Ga.
The incoming junior will add depth to the infield, as she posted a .333 batting average with four runs scored and four RBIs in 11 games. Carlton helped propel the Bulldogs in the early part of the season, as she went 2-4 with two runs and two RBIs in four games at the Clearwater Classic in 2026.
Over the course of her career, she participated in 38 games and tallied 36 at-bats with a batting average of .222 with nine runs scored, eight hits, one home run, and six RBIs. The incoming freshman also boasts a career on-base percentage of .417 with 12 walks. During her first year with the Bulldogs, she posted one multi-hit game, collecting two hits and scoring one run against James Madison.
Before joining Georgia, the Lynchburg, Virginia native was a two-time All-State performer and was the Seminole District Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023.
Carlton becomes the third player to join the Tigers' 2027 roster, as she joins incoming senior Nealy Lamb (South Carolina) and incoming junior Jana Want (Middle Tennessee State).
