Hayley Lechner was named Assistant Director of Football Academics at Mizzou in September of 2025. In her roll, she will monitor and prepare academic plans for football student athletes. After seven full seasons with Mizzou Athletics, she has carried three different titles within her time.
Lechner, a native of St. Charles, Missouri, fosters a welcoming environment with her student-athletes while implementing study skills. While working one-on-one with student-athletes, she also monitors eligibility rules and regulations to ensure compliance with the NCAA and Mizzou. Lechner creates a unique and effective way of communicating and developing a domain of academic influence when working individually with student-athletes.
Lechner previously worked for Mizzou Made Academics where she began June of 2017 as a graduate assistant. She worked with the Enhanced Learning Program, football, men’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, men’s track and field and men’s golf. Lechner spent time as an Assistant Learning Specialist with the Enhanced Learning Program before accepting a position as a Learning Specialist, where she worked specifically with football and track & field. Prior to her time at Missouri, Lechner served as an intern with the University of Miami Athletic Academics staff.
Hayley is an essential part of the Mizzou Athletics department’s team, not only with her educational expertise but with her diligent work with Mizzou student-athletes.
Lechner graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami in 2017, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration, with minors in Business Law and Psychology. She completed her Master of Education in Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri in 2019.
