Nick Farfan serves as the Director of Turf, Landscape and Grounds for the University of Missouri Athletics Department. In this role, Farfan oversees the preparation and maintenance of all athletics facilities in accordance with NCAA and SEC regulations while implementing environmentally-sound cultural practices that promote safe, high-quality playing surfaces. He is also responsible for managing budgets related to athletics fields and grounds, purchasing and maintaining equipment and supplies and leading a team of full-time and part-time staff.
Farfan brings extensive professional experience across collegiate and professional sports to Mizzou. Prior to returning to Columbia, he served as Assistant Groundskeeper for the Kansas City Current from 2023 to 2024 and worked with the Kansas City Royals grounds crew during the same period. His previous roles include Field Operations Manager for the Indianapolis Indians (2022–23), Athletic Field and Turf Specialist at the University of Texas (2021–22) and positions with the St. Louis Cardinals, Bellerive Country Club and the University of Missouri.
Farfan holds a Sports Turf Management Certificate from Ohio State University (2022) and an Associate’s degree in Commercial Turf and Grounds Management from State Technical College of Missouri (2021). His broad experience in both collegiate and professional athletics contributes to the continued excellence of Mizzou’s athletic facilities.
