Post Game Quotes-Coach Mike Anderson (11/19/06)
Opening Statement
"First off, Davidson is a really good team. In the first half they wouldn't go away. They didn't panic and to me, that's a sign of a really good basketball team. We played a team that could really shoot the basketball. But our defense is what made the difference. We created the tempo of the game, and the tempo is what created the turnovers."
On Defense and Crunch Time
"Our guys are making the necessary adjustments. J.T. (Tiller) gave us a whole lot of energy as well as and Darryl (Butterfield), even thought it may not show stat wise. Our defense especially was in tune and had a good rhythm...We knew we had to make free throws and we did. (We shot 75%.) We got there 28 times. That's huge and it should be because we're an attacking team."
On the line-up
"Today it was Leo. Kalen's got to get comfortable. He struggled earlier on and Leo was able to come out. You've got to have the guys that make plays. Next game it may be someone else... I'm an instinctive coach and I like instinctive players, (i.e.Hannah, Tiller, etc.) but we have to get more guys ready to play."
On 5-0 Start
"Every game is big for this team. Beating Davidson did a lot for their confidence, but there are still a lot of things to be done and our guys know that."
