Missouri Defeats Nebraska, 191.00 - 81.00

Lincoln, Neb.--In their second competition in as many days, the Missouri women's swimming and diving team claimed their second victory of the weekend and remained undefeated in conference as they crushed the Nebraska Huskers, 191.00 - 81.00.
The Tigers quickly established themselves Saturday, as they swept the podium in their first event, the 200-yard medley relay. The A relay team of Cassie Cunningham, Emy DiBenigno, Amanda Masters and Lisa Nathanson finished first in 1:41.82. Missouri's B relay team of Dominique Bouchard, Morgan McCleery, Lexi Spivak and Sydney Schaefer placed second in 1:45.18, while Lauren Lavigna, Courtney Rhodenbaugh, Rachel Ripley and Caitlin Connor took third in 1:46.56 for the C team.
Stephanie Rovig placed second in the next event, finishing the grueling 1650 free in 17:22.85. In the 200 free, Missouri again found victory, as Francie Szostak continued her amazing weekend with a 1:51.21 first-place finish in the event. Dominique Bouchard took the silver, finishing in 1:52.27.
In yet another 1-2 finish, Lauren Lavigna (57.52) and Andrea Marko (58.39) claimed the top spots in the 100 back. Mizzou swept the podium again in the 100 breast, as Amanda Masters (1:02.68), Morgan McCleery (1:04.31), and Emy DiBenigno (1:04.65) took the top three spots, while Rachel Ripley (1:05.31) finished in a close fourth.
The 200 fly was a showcase for Missouri's seniors, as Melissa Jamerson (2:03.72) and Anastasia Sotiropoulos (2:04.13) took first and second place. In the 50 free, Cassie Cunningham placed first (23.44), while Sydney Schaefer took second place (23.97). Schaefer would then go on to take first in the 100 free, clocking in at 51.62, while Lisa Nathanson placed third in 52.05.
The 200 back was not just a 1-2-3 sweep for the Tigers, but a 1-2-3-4 finish for Missouri. Bouchard finished first in the event she holds the Big 12 Conference record in, clocking in at 1:59.78, while Francie Szostak placed second in 2:00.53. Cassie Cunningham rounded out the top three with a 2:02.99 finish, while Andrea Marko kept the Tigers' streak going with a fourth place finish in 2:10.34.
Missouri again claimed the top four spots in the 200 breast. Amanda Masters was victorious in her 2:16.18 finish, Emy DiBenigno took second in 2:21.53, and Morgan McCleery finished third in 2:22.63. Rachel Ripley took the fourth place spot with a 2:23.38 finish.
In the 500 free, Francie Szostak placed second in 5:01.75, while Lauren Lavigna took third in 5:02.78. Lexi Spivak had her first victory of the day in the 100 fly, finishing the event in 56.87. Emy DiBenigno placed third in 57.17.
Amanda Masters claimed her second victory of the day in the 200 IM, finishing in 2:06.32 In the final event, the 200 free relay, Missouri took yet another victory lap, as the A relay team of Cassie Cunningham, Stephanie Rovig, Francie Szostak and Lisa Nathanson took first in 1:34.21.
In the diving pool, Sharon Finn took the victory in the 1 meter dive, with 269.10 points. She also took fourth in the 3 meter dive, finishing the event with 252.68 points.
