COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 13/20 Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving teams head to College Station, Texas, this week for the 2018 Southeastern Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. The five-day meet runs Wednesday, Feb. 14 - Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Rec Center Natatorium at Texas A&M University.
TIGER TIDBITS
- Missouri enters SECs ranked 13th nationally in the men's CSCAA poll and 20th in the women's poll
- Last season the Tiger men finished fifth with 771 points, while the women placed sixth with 786 points
- A total of 19 Tigers enter SECs ranked among the top 25 in their respective events
- In fact, four Tigers own top 10 times in their events. Junior Mikel Schreuders ranks third nationally in the men's 200 free (1:33.24), senior Hannah Stevens is fourth in the women's 100 back (51.16), senior Sharli Brady is fifth in the women's 400 IM (4:04.37) and ninth in the women's 200 fly (1:54.56) and junior Annie Ochitwa is seventh in the women's 100 free (47.58)
- Two Tiger women, Brady and Stevens, NCAA A cuts in 2017-18: Brady has her cut in the 400 IM, while Stevens has an A standard in the 200 back
- Additionally, three Missouri relays earned A cuts throughout the season (men's 400 free relay and 400 medley relay, women's 800 free relay)
- The Tigers set a combined 10 school records during the 2017-18 regular season, with six set by the women's team and four by the women's
- Head Coach Greg Rhodenbaugh is in his eighth season at the helm of the Tigers. Under his direction, the men have posted their top six NCAA finishes in program history, while the women have their top five
- Eight men's and seven women's SEC programs enter the Championships ranked in the top 25 of the latest polls. On the men's side, Florida leads the way in third, followed by Georgia (ninth), Texas A&M (11th), Tennessee (12th), Mizzou (13th), Alabama and Auburn (16th) and South Carolina (23rd). For the women, Texas A&M enters at third, while Georgia is sixth, Tennessee is ninth, Kentucky is 13th, Auburn is 15th, Kentucky is 16th, Florida 17th and Mizzou 20th
