
Mizzou Soccer Falls 3-2 on the Road to Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Mizzou Soccer fell for the first time in SEC play, dropping a 3-2 match to Florida on Thursday night at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
Mizzou (6-3-1, 0-1-1 SEC) scored two goals in the second half, but the 2-0 deficit was too much as Florida (6-4, 2-0 SEC) scored in the 20', 53' and 77' minute for the win.
TURNING POINT
- Down by multiple goals in the second half – on the road to a SEC opponent – Mizzou put up a fight in the final 25 minutes.
- Macy Trujillo gave Mizzou life with a goal in the 65' to pull the Tigers within a goal, 2-1. Sarah Luebbert fed a pass to her at the top of the box, to which Trujillo drilled a shot to the upper right corner of the net.
- Down 3-1, Luebbert would give the Tigers life again in the final 10 minutes. Pushing toward the goal, Luebbert drew a foul in the box for a penalty kick. Mizzou elected to have the senior leader take the penalty shot, and their faith proved to be well placed. Luebbert drilled her penalty kick for Mizzou's final goal of the night.

- Sarah Luebbert led Mizzou with three points on the night, getting an assist and scoring a goal – both in the second half.
QUOTABLE
- "I'm so impressed that this group of players continues to fight for each other," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "Florida is a good team and it's no easy place to play, but I'm really proud of our players. No we look forward to playing a good Georgia team at home on Sunday."
NOTES
- Four of Mizzou's six shots on goal came in the second half.
- With her second-half assist and goal, Sarah Luebbert now has 14 points on the same. That mark exceeds her point total of 11 from 2018. Luebbert now has four assists and five goals on the season – both either leads the team or is tied for the team lead.
- Luebbert is also 2-for-2 on PK attempts this season, and is 3-for-4 in her career.
- Macy Trujillo scored her second goal of the season with her strike in the 65' to make it a 2-1 match.
Mizzou will return to action this Sunday, hosting Georgia at Audrey Walton Stadium. The match will air on ESPNU – the Tigers' lone match on national television at home – with kickoff at 4 p.m. CT.
