Yuen tallies her second consecutive Top-5 finish
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Women's Golf capped off their final regular season tournament down in North Texas this weekend, finishing in 8th place Monday afternoon. The team posted its best spring scores with a 17-over 881 (297-294-290). Veteran Jess Yuen (Bolingbrook, Ill.) continued her hot streak to once again lead the Tigers, securing a T-5 overall finish.
"The team showed a lot of promise this week with a commitment to finishing out the tournament with a mindset focused on staying in the driver's seat. Another incredible showing for Jess. We couldn't be prouder of her continued growth and leadership," head coach Stephanie Priesmeyer.
Yuen put on a show on day one sinking five birdies within her first nine holes to fire her season-best round score of a 3-under 69 to then follow with an even 72 in the second round. She finished T-5 overall with a 2-under par, marking her first season event under-par and second consecutive Top-5 finish.
"I got off to a hot start early on day one. Going 5-under par after my first 10 holes, I found myself starting to push a bit. I'm pleased though with my patience and process of the day," said Yuen.
Sophomore Brianne Bolden (Mokena, Ill.) finished strong with her season-best round score of 2-under 70 to place T-29.
Highlighting senior Noelle Beijer (Assendelft, The Netherlands) weekend was her last round of even-par 72. She sunk an eagle in the first round and finished in T-37.
