No. 11 Gymnastics Set to Compete at SEC Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 11 University of Missouri gymnastics team opens postseason competition at the 2022 Southeastern Conference Championships on Saturday, March 19 at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala. The Tigers will compete in the afternoon session at 2:30 p.m. with No. 9 Kentucky and No. 17 Auburn and No. 22 Georgia, while No. 3 Florida, No. 5 LSU, No. 6 Alabama and No. 6 Auburn will go in the evening session at 7 p.m. CT. SEC Network will broadcast both sessions.
#MIZ NOTABLES
- Heading into postseason, the Tigers are ranked 11th nationally for the third week in a row, including top-20 standings in each event.
- Freshman Amari Celestine was named Co-Freshman of the Week honors after a record-breaking meet on Saturday, March 12. Celestine competed on vault, bars and floor on Saturday. She earned a 9.925 on vault, 9.775 on bars and tied Mizzou program-high posting a 9.975 on floor.
- The Tigers reached new program heights Saturday night when they posted their best team score in Tiger history during quad meet against Illinois, Iowa State and Lindenwood. The previous record was set earlier this season against Florida. The Tigers posted 197.675 to clinch the win, while Illinois scored a 197.275, Iowa State scored 196.825 and Lindenwood scored 194.825.
- On beam, last Saturday senior Sienna Schreiber post a new perfect routine matching her career-high 9.975.
- Schreiber posted a career-high all-around score of 39.575 In all four events, Schreiber did not score under a 9.825.
