Tigers top Razorbacks in Fayetteville to open 2024-25 campaign
COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's swimming and diving claimed victories in 11 events Saturday to catapult the Tigers to a 174-125 season-opening win over Arkansas at Arkansas Natatorium.
The Tigers' victory was highlighted by a balanced performance that included wins for MIzzou in both relay events. Overall, the Tigers earned 27 podium positions.
Missouri has now claimed the past four meetings with the Razorbacks and sliced Arkansas' series lead to 17-13.
Karolina Bank turned in a strong season-opening performance, securing first-places finishes in three events. The sophomore swam a 1:00.41 in the 100 breast, a 2:13.45 in the 200 breast and was part of MU's victorious 200-medley relay (1:38.43).
NOTABLE RESULTS
- Katie Gresik earned a win in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:55.32.
- Sydney Bales picked up victories in the 200 medley relay and 100 back (54.36)..
- The 200 fly went to Taylor Williams, who swam a 1:59.09.
- Abbey Taute continued to impress in the 200 back with a first-place finish of 1:56.93.
- Grace Hanson earned her first win of the season in the 100 fly with a time of 54.21.
UP NEXT
The Tigers will host Purdue at Mizzou Aquatic Center on Friday, October 25. The dual will serve as the Tigers' Pink Out meet and support breast cancer awareness.
