
Soccer Primed for Road Contest at Texas

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri soccer travels to face Texas at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The game will be available to be streamed live on SECN+.
Missouri (5-8-2, 3-4-1 SEC) enters the contest following a 3-1 home victory over Oklahoma on Friday.
With the win, the Tigers are tied for ninth in the SEC standings. The top 12 programs qualify for the conference tournament in November.
Senior midfielder Leah Selm powered the offense providing two of the three goals. The midfielder also notched an assist to the second-half goal from Keegan Good.
Selm scored just 37 seconds into the match marking the third-fastest goal to start a match in program history.
The two-goal game from Selm marks the second time this season a Tiger has scored more than one goal during a contest. The first came from senior midfielder Milena Fischer who scored three goals to lead Mizzou past Ole Miss on October 10th.
Fischer leads Missouri with six goals on the season
Sophomore goalkeeper Kate Phillips helped the Tigers' defensive cause with four saves.
Texas (11-3-2, 4-3-1 SEC) is coming off a loss to No. 5 Arkansas on Friday.
Senior midfielder Lexi Missimo headlines the Longhorns roster with 10 goals and nine assists this season.
Texas is coached by Ange Kelly who is in her 13th season at the helm with a 139–74–32 record at Texas. The Longhorns have appeared in seven NCAA tournaments under her tenure, including six straight appearances dating back to 2017.
The contest will mark the 20th meeting between the programs with Texas leading the all-time series 13-4-2.
It is the first meeting between the teams since October 2, 2011, when both schools were members of the Big 12 Conference.
