
Soccer Battles LSU for SEC Tournament Berth

COLUMBIA, Mo – University of Missouri soccer returns home to wrap up the 2024 regular season against LSU at 3 p.m. on Sunday. The game will air nationally on SEC Network.
Missouri currently sits in 10th position in the SEC standings with 12 programs making the conference tournament in November. A win or a tie gives the Tigers a postseason berth.
Missouri (5-9-2, 3-5-1 SEC) is coming off a loss at Texas on Thursday.
Junior midfielder Keegan Good scored the Tigers goal against Texas. Good has scored in back-to-back games with a goal in the 3-1 victory vs Oklahoma on Oct 18.
Senior Milena Fischer leads Missouri with six goals on the season.
In total, 11 different Tigers have scored goals in Fischer (6), Selm (4), Kylee Simmons (3), Keegan Good (3), Landis Canada, Bella Carillo, Monica Brauner, Brianna Buels, Olivia Chianelli, Jess Larson and Emily Derucki.
In the last six games, Mizzou has netted five goals in the opening 10 minutes.
The quickest came from senior midfielder Leah Selm after she scored just 37 seconds into the match against Oklahoma (Oct. 18) marking the third fastest goal to start a match in program history.
LSU (7-7-3, 2-5-2 SEC) have tied their last two games with their latest being a 0-0 draw with Vanderbilt on Thursday. The Purple and Gold are 13th in the conference standings.
Junior midfielder Ida Hermannsdottir is at the forefront of the LSU offense with seven goals on the season.
Head coach Sian Hudson is in her fifth season with LSU. Hudson has a 44-35-18 record with the team and a 96-45-22 overall record as a head coach.
Hudson has led LSU to two postseason appearances and one postseason win.
The contest will mark the 11th meeting between the programs with LSU leading the all-time series 7-2-1. Mizzou leads the meetings at Walton Stadium 2-1-1.
Admission is free to all Missouri home games this season.
