GAME RECAP
Missouri scored the first 12 points of the game, using active hands early to force four turnovers before the Redhawks tallied their first basket five minutes into the contest.
After starting the game one-for-six from the field, Southeast Missouri State knocked down its next seven shots to cut the lead to 21-18. Another run of six-straight makes allowed the visitors to take the lead as it earned a 51-46 edge at the break.
Led by a high-flying block by Phillips, Mizzou held Southeast Missouri State to just one field goal for their first 10 attempts to start the second period. The physical defense of the Tigers sparked a 12-0 run to claim the lead at 62-58.
Neither team would lead by more than a single possession for more than nine minutes down the stretch and with the score tied up at 76, Northweather's steal on a lob pass led to a Mitchell and-one on the other end and gave Missouri the lead for good. The Tigers would lead by as many as seven points down the stretch before securing the 89-84 win.
