Hu Scores Another 10, Welker Reaches 100 Wins as Gymnastics Defeats Arkansas

Missouri has scored at least 197.425 in its least four meets as it heads into the postseason.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 7 University of Missouri gymnastics earned its second-best team score in program history, highlighted by the second perfect 10 of redshirt senior Helen Hu's (Chicago, Ill.) career, as the team beat No. 16 Arkansas, 197.800-197.225, on Friday at Bud Walton Arena.
The victory marked the 100th of head coach Shannon Welker's career. Mizzou's (13-4, 5-3 SEC) score in the win clinched a spot in Session II of the Southeastern Conference Championship for the first time since joining the league.
SHOW STOPPERS
Hu made history in the meet, becoming the second gymnast in program history to score a 10 twice in a season. Mara Titarsolej (Zutphen, Netherlands) earned 9.975 on her uneven bars routine, marking the third-straight meet she's scored at least 9.950 on the apparatus. Sophomore Hannah Horton (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) tied her career-best vault result of 9.950.

Uneven Bars
-On bars, Missouri earned 49.450, tying for its fifth-best score in program history.
-Graduate student Kyra Burns (Blue Springs, Mo.) opened the meet for Mizzou scoring 9.900.
-Olivia Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) also earned a 9.900, marking a new career best.
-Titarsolej's result earned her the event title.
Vault
-Mizzou notched 49.375 on vault for the third-consecutive meet, tying the team's season high.
-Kennedy Griffin (Strongsville, Ohio) and Amari Celestine (Wildomar, Calif.) each scored 9.875.
-Horton claimed the title with her 9.950 and was the lone gymnast to score at least 9.900 on vault.
Floor
-Missouri's third rotation saw it on floor, where it totaled 49.400, marking the eighth meet this season the team has reached or exceeded the score.
-Elise Tisler (Fairfax Station, Va.) scored 9.875 from the leadoff position – her sixth time achieving the result this season.
-Celestine's 9.925 won a share of the event title with two Arkansas (7-9, 2-6 SEC) gymnasts.
-Griffin and Jocelyn Moore (Hillsborough, N.J) earned 9.875 from the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
Beam
-Mizzou's 49.575 marked its best score in program history.
-Going fourth, Railey Jackson (Park Forest, Ill.) tied her personal-best score of 9.875.
-Junior Addison Lawrence (Olathe, Kan.) notched 9.950 on her routine, a new season best.
-Kelly tied her best mark on beam of 9.900, her third time receiving the mark.
-In the final routine of the meet, Hu became the only gymnast of the season to score two 10s on balance beam this season.

Missouri opens the postseason at the 2025 SEC Championship on Saturday, March 22 in Birmingham, Ala. at Legacy Arena. The Tigers will compete in Session II alongside Oklahoma, LSU and Florida at 7 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
