
75th-ranked Tigers Fall to Oklahoma, 5-2

Norman, Okla. - The 75th-ranked University of Missouri women's tennis team lost to Oklahoma, 5-2, Friday afternoon at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman. The Tigers fall to 5-6 overall and 1-4 in the Big 12. The Sooners are now 5-5 and 2-1 in the Big 12.
Mizzou picked up their two points from singles action, as junior Chrissy Svetlic downed Baxley, 1-6, 6-4, 13-11, for her fifth win of the spring season and 16th of the year.
The Tigers also got a win from the No. 6 slot; as sophomore Raquel Wagner beat Cox, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (9), to earn her second win in a row, sixth of the spring and 15th of the year.
All three Mizzou duos fell in their matches. At No. 1 Katelyn McKenzie and Raquel Wagner lost to Irina Lykina and Gabby Baker, 8-2. At No. 2, Amanda Pratzel and Erika Josbena fell to Christi Baxley and Monica Purice, 8-4. Kaitlin Dunham and Chrissy Svetlic had the closest match of the round, losing 8-5 to Chelsea Orr and Rachael Cox.
At No. 1, Pratzel fell to Baker, 6-3, 6-2. Josbena lost at No. 2 in two sets to OU's Monica Purice. At No. 4, and Dunham lost to Lykina, 6-0, 6-4. At No. 5, McKenzie was able to win her first set against Orr, 6-4, but fell in the second set, 6-0, and lost the tiebreak, 10-3.
Saturday the Tigers will try to pick up their second conference win as they face 50th-ranked Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
