Rosburg Not Going Quietly Into the Night
- Mizzou senior forward Ryan Rosburg unfortunately knows the date of his final game as a Tiger when his squad plays Florida on Saturday, March 5. That hasn't deterred Rosburg in recent games, as the senior Tiger has reset his career scoring mark in back-to-back games for Mizzou.
- Since Mizzou Athletics announced on Jan. 13, it would self-impose a postseason ban this season on its men's basketball program, Rosburg has admirably played some of the best basketball of his career.
- With a career scoring average of 3.6 points per game, Rosburg has scored in double digits on four different occasions since Jan. 13, including a career-high 24 points with a season-best 11 rebounds at Vanderbilt (Feb. 10) for his first career double-double.
- Rosburg scored a then-career-high 17 points (7-of-12 FG, 3-of-3 FT) at Alabama (Feb. 6).
- Over the last eight games, Rosburg has averaged 9.9 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Tied All-Time Against Tennessee
- Mizzou and Tennessee have played to a 5-5 series tie since the very first meeting between the two programs in 1961, when the Tigers came away victorious in Knoxville, Tenn., by a score of 86-61 (Dec. 20, 1961).
- Just four of the Tigers-Volunteers matchups have come since Mizzou joined the Southeastern Conference, although the earliest prior contest in the series occurred during the 1985-86 season.
More About Tennessee
- Tennessee (12-12, 5-6) enters its matchup at Mizzou having won two of its last three games, including an 84-77 win at home over No. 20 Kentucky (Feb. 2). Head coach Rick Barnes' squad also recently turned away Auburn by a score of 71-45 on Feb. 9.
- The Volunteers are led in scoring by senior guard Kevin Punter, who has averaged 22.5 points per game in conference play. That mark ranks second in the league. Punter also averaged 3.6 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.
