
Wright Gets Singles Win in Athens

Tigers complete play on Sunday
ATHENS, Ga. – The Mizzou Tennis team continued play Saturday at the Puerto Rico Fall Classic, matching up against Georgia in doubles action and Clemson and Vanderbilt in singles play at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Freshman Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) notched her first singles win at Mizzou, and second of the weekend, with her 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Clemson's Daniela Ruiz. Fellow newcomer, sophomore Serena Nash (Bradford, England) was barely edged out of her own singles win, forcing a third set vs. Clemson's Sydney Riley, before falling in the tiebreaker, 10-8.
The tournament concludes Sunday, with the Tigers squaring off against Clemson in doubles action at 9 a.m. CT. There will also be additional singles matches scheduled following the doubles session.
