COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior Brooke Kelly will represent the No. 17 Mizzou gymnastics team at the 2019 NCAA Championships on Friday, April 19 in Fort Worth, Texas. Kelly, who qualified for the meet as an individual on beam, will compete in the Noon CT semifinal at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The meet will air live on ESPN2 with Bart Connor and Kathy Johnson Clarke calling the action. Additionally, live streams for all individual events, plus an all-around stream with a quad stream, are available as well.
Kelly, who is paired with LSU, will compete on beam in the first rotation.
Kelly earned her individual berth as the highest beam scorer not on a qualifying team from the Athens Regional second round. Her 9.875 on the apparatus was also matched by two other non-qualifying individuals, but Kelly claimed the beam spot on the second tiebreaker, which was highest head judge score.
A senior, Kelly has competed in 49 meets in her Tiger career, including 45 times in the beam lineup. She owns a career-high of 9.925 on the event, which she has accomplished three times in her career, twice in 2018 and once during the 2017 season. This year, Kelly owns season-bests of 9.875 on beam and 9.825 on bars, both set at the NCAA Athens Regional on Friday.
Kelly is the 10th Tiger to earn an individual qualification to the NCAA Championships in program history, and the first since current redshirt junior Morgan Porter (Overland, Mo). earned a berth as an all-arounder as a freshman in 2016.
