
Mizzou Hosts Georgia for Senior Day

Tigers will play final regular-season matchup at home
COLUMBIA, Mo. — For its final game of the regular season, the University of Missouri men's basketball team hosts Georgia, Saturday, March 5 in a 2:30 p.m. tip on SEC Network. Dave Neal and Jon Sundvold will have the call for SEC Network, while Mike Kelly and Chris Gervino will have the game on Tiger Radio Network.
The Tigers' will recognize their lone 2022 senior, Javon Pickett, prior to the start of Saturday afternoon's game. Mizzou also has a limited edition Truman the Tiger bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans to the game.
Due to multiple events happening at the Mizzou sports complex Saturday afternoon, fans are advised to arrive early and expect additional traffic.
MIZZOU HEADLINES
- Missouri and Georgia lead the SEC in free throw percentage in conference play, with Georgia shooting 79.1 percent at the line and Missouri in second with 76 percent.
- Mizzou's strength of schedule ranks seventh in the nation according to the NET ranking and is second in the SEC.
- The Tigers' are tied with Alabama for the most games against Q1 and Q2 opponents this season in the SEC.
- Javon Pickett continues to play some of the best basketball of his career, shooting 46.1 percent from the floor against conference opponents and averaging 13.5 points per game.
- Pickett has 14-straight conference games in double-digits and is coming off a career-high 23 points at South Carolina.
- Seven of Mizzou's last 12 SEC games have been decided by an average of 4.5 points.
- Mizzou is 10-2 this season when outrebounding its opponents, doing so in every win this season.
- Trevon Brazile has recorded 39 blocks this season, and ranks second in blocks per game in SEC play, behind only Auburn's Walker Kessler.
THE SERIES
- Mizzou leads the all-time series narrowly, 9-8, and has won four of the last five meetings between the two teams.
- The Tigers' took back the series lead against Georgia with a 73-70 win in the SEC Tournament last season, after dropping the regular-season meeting between the two teams.
- Kobe Brown was one of four Tigers in double-digits in the SEC Tournament game last season, with 16 points and seven boards on 6-of-8 shooting.
- Mizzou leads the all-time series 4-2 at home.
SCOUTING GEORGIA
- Georgia enters Saturday with a 6-24 record, and 1-16 in SEC play. All six of the Bulldogs' wins have come at home this season.
- Kario Oquendo leads Georgia's four double-digit scorers with a team-best 15.3 points per game, shooting at a 45.7 percent clip.
- The sophomore transfer from Florida Southwestern State, ranks ninth in the SEC for scoring.
- Aaron Cook is averaging 5.5 assists per game, good enough for second in the league and top-20 nationally.
- As a team, Georgia ranks third in field goal percentage but is 13th in turnovers per game.
