The Tigers finished the tournament 1-4, as their lone victory came against Houston.

Mizzou softball (5-11) fell victim to its second-straight loss with a 9-1 run-rule loss to Louisiana (10-5), on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Cajun AC Louisiana Clash in Lake Charles, La.

The Tigers are now 5-11 after finishing the weekend 1-4, dropping two to McNeese and one to Houston and Louisiana, respectively.

Junior Abby Hay scored the first run of the game, with a two-out RBI double following freshman Addy Waits' leadoff triple. The Ragin' Cajuns got out of the inning after Hay collided with the shortstop. Hay left the game after that, as Mizzou shifted around the lineup, including a change in starting pitcher, as freshman Abby Carr got her second career start on the mound.

Louisiana struck in the bottom of the third inning with a two-run home run and further extended the lead in the next inning with a two-out single. Carr would be charged with the four runs, as she allowed seven hits over three and two-thirds innings.

Junior Nathalie Touchet took over the circle for the Tigers, as she went one and two-thirds, allowing one earned run on three hits. The lone run came in the bottom of the sixth when she allowed a triple to make it 5-1.

After Touchet exited the mound, the Tigers would allow four more runs, as Louisiana would complete the run-rule, 9-1.

GAME NOTES

Larissa Anderson is now 377-230-1 all-time.
The Tigers are now 2-2 against Louisiana.
Mizzou is 2-4 against mid-major programs this season.

NEXT UP

Mizzou makes its home debut, as it hosts the annual Mizzou Invitational starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, and going through Sunday, March 1, at the Mizzou Softball Stadium. The Tigers will host three teams with Wichita State, Miami (OH) and Drake set to attend the tournament.
