Mizzou Falls to No. 16 Texas

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou tennis fell to No. 16 Texas, 7-0, on Friday, Feb. 27, at Country Club of Missouri.
First to finish doubles were senior Andrea Artimedi and sophomore Gian Octa, who were defeated 6-1. Next was sophomore Zoe Lazar and freshman Lara Quaglia, who fell 6-3. Freshman Alex Ackman and sophomore Korina Rosa were tied 5-5 in a back-and-forth match when it went unfinished.
The Tigers fought hard but ultimately fell short in singles. Roso battled against No. 3 Carmen Andreea Herea, losing in a close 6-4, 6-4 match. Ackman pushed through a tight first set but fell 7-5, 6-0. Lazar built momentum on court five but was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by her opponent. Octa kept points competitive and worked to extend rallies but fell short 6-3, 6-4. Artimedi stayed competitive throughout, extending rallies and challenging each point before dropping a 6-2, 6-1 decision. Quaglia battled through lengthy games and fought for the upper hand, but ultimately fell 6-1, 6-2.
UP NEXT
Tennis hosts No. 5 Texas A&M and Lindenwood at home on Sunday, March 1. The Tigers will face the Aggies first at 11:30 a.m., CT, followed by the Lions at 4 p.m., CT.
