COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou Tennis team ended its 10-match homestand with a 4-0 loss to No. 17 Kentucky on Sunday at the Mizzou Tennis Complex.
The Tigers (11-6, 0-3 SEC) started off well. Senior Amina Ismail (Maineville, Ohio) and sophomore Serena Nash (Bradford, England) posted a convincing 6-1 win at No. 2 to register a weekend sweep of their doubles matches. Kentucky, however, was able to squeeze out 6-4 and 7-5 wins at the No. 3 and No. 1 positions, respectively, to earn the doubles point.
Kentucky (11-3, 3-1) picked up identical 6-0, 6-2 wins at No. 3 and No. 4 to take a 3-0 lead, while the Tigers received some solid play from their top singles players. At No. 1, Nash forced a tiebreak in the first set vs. No. 122 Justina Mikulskyté, and sophomore Mackenzy Middlebrooks (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was moments away from picking up her 19th win of the season. She was up a set and leading UK's Emily Fanning in the second, 4-3, but like the pair's matchup in Lexington last year, play was suspended due to the Wildcats' match win.

The Tigers hit the road this week for the first time since the beginning of February. Mizzou travels to College Station, Texas, to face No. 35 Texas A&M on Thursday at 3 p.m., then is at No. 36 LSU on Saturday at Noon.
